Petition Basics
Before you sign
This petition can’t legally be signed through a
website. The signature has to be your own, given in person, on the petition
itself.
What’s required of you as a signer:
- Yourself, in person (signatures can’t be collected online or by proxy)
- You must be a qualified voter of the City of Conroe, living within city limits
- Your signature, in your own hand, in ink, on the petition itself
- Your current residence address, and the date you sign
If you’re not registered to vote, GET REGISTERED TO VOTE HERE.
This is a different deadline than the one for voting: you have to have registered to vote at least 30 days before the date you sign the petition. For example, if you plan to sign on Election Day, November 3, 2026, you must have registered to vote by October 5, 2026 (the 30-day mark falls on a Sunday, so it rolls to the next business day).
The person collecting a signature sheet must also be a qualified voter who has signed the petition themselves, and will need to vouch, typically in front of a notary, that everyone on it signed in their presence. If you can support that role, sign up to help; we especially need notaries.
Signing events
We'll have a table at Central Library during early voting for the November 3, 2026 election — the county's Main Early Voting Polling Place. Stop by any of these dates to sign, ask questions, or pick up a yard sign.
